With a name like The Coffee Incident I was already in really, but when I saw their sign
"Coffee. Not made by clowns"
well, I was doubly in! And it was well worth the stop, the coffee was great, staff very welcoming of my entrance with two small children and they made fabulous milkshakes for the kids. Highly recommend this for anyone wanting a great coffee on their way through Glen. I will post their Facebook link in a comment below this post.
Had a great chat with the friendly staff in at the Glen Innes Tourist Info who were more than happy to help promote the Market + Fair Day, and will shortly also drop some into the Guyra Tourist Info, wonderful to hear how supportive people are across the New England about local producers and makers and how much they love the sound of our event on Satutday 8th March.
Managed to squeeze in some wonderful retail therapy at Raindrops and Lollipops while in Glen - beautiful shop, great things for little ones too and VERY child friendly, thanks Nellie!
Jake, Helena and I are off to Glen today to start the little tour of the New England we have talked about doing - and to drop off some of the fabulous flyers for the Market + Fair Day, music going (Jakes favourite, Mumford & Sons), banana bread already mostly gone and we just passed Armidale ....
Glen Olives have built an award winning range of olives and olive oils and I am really thrilled that they are coming to the Market + Fair Day on 8th March. One of my personal favourites is their extra virgin olive oil, but I also love their olives in balsamic and white wine vinegar. All will be available for tasting on the 8th March and in the mean time you can also get hold of some at DJ's Wholesale Fruit Market, in Armidale.
With a mobile chicken coop to get them to fresh pastures on a regular basis, these chickens certainly live the high life. The mobile coop is such a great way of keeping pastures fresh and chickens happy - if only we all had one! As someone who is currently building our own Impenetrable Chicken Palace (or ICP for short), with a securely fenced in free range run of some considerable size, I am decidedly envious of this set up - so much smarter! And the eggs from happy, healthy chickens like those in this picture are always much tastier - I'm sure having lama friends helps too... Looking forward to seeing Kirsty and Arron at the Market + Fair Day on 8th March, and getting hold of some of those eggs!
The nursery always come with such a great range of plants, shrubs and trees to the markets that it is hard to go home empty handed. They can help with LOTS of plants, or just a few, and also with advice on planting and plant selection. All grown in their nursery near Kentucky, their plants are seasoned locals, come and check them out at the Market + Fair Day at the Uralla Showground on Saturday 8th March.
This would have to be one of my favourite prints from Vera Thora's collection. I am really looking forward to seeing what she has available for the Market + Fair Day on Saturday 8th March. I know they will tempt more than just me, I love the use of paper, both new and upcycled, and the way she achieves some beautiful results with vibrant colours and images.
Jayne's stall is always a treasure trove of beautiful things, I had the pleasure of having a stall next to hers at a recent market and the temptation was too much, I had to order some things from her! The queue for Jayne's stall was constant and justifiably so with such a wonderful range of beautiful jewellery and art. Jayne is always happy to work on custom orders too, which is great, and perfect for when you know exactly what you want but just can't see it on her stall. Really thrilled to have Jayne join us on the Market + Fair D
I have to admit that with twin nieces who love girly things, I am VERY familiar with Poppymay! These hairclips have been one of my favourite things to buy for them and they just love wearing them - and they always look gorgeous. It is always impossible to choose for them so I am probably going to just do my usual and buy way too many! So glad to have this opportunity for some shopping at the Market + Fair Day on Saturday 8th March, always good fun finding beautiful handmade products like these.
